iOS 10 has brought the option to add an electronic coloured overlay one the screen.
iPhone
Colour-tint:
Go to:
- Settings>general>accessibility>display accommodations
- Then move the color filters switch to enable
- Adjust hue and intensity to the colour that is right for you!
- To turn it back, simply tap the color filter switch back off
Colour-Filters:
Go to:
- Settings>general>accessibility>display accommodations
- Then move the color filters switch to enable
- From here select from the four options (greyscale, Red/Green Filter for Protanopia, Green/Red Filter for Deuteranopia and Blue/Yellow Filter for Tritanopia)
- Adjust the intensity to your needs.

For iPad
Same as above.
I use peach as that was the prescribed colour from my colorimetry assessment, but if you’re not sure what helps you just have a look through the shades and if you find one colour that’s the least offensive, try adjusting the intensity and scrolling through hues closest to that shade.
For example I usually gravitate towards red as a starting point, then go towards orange/pinks until I find one that fits.
