To have a passage of text read aloud by ClaroRead Speak, first download the software via the software centre, then select the ‘Advanced Speech’ button.
You will then be presented with the Advanced Speech window.
The first option available is to Auto-speak a passage of text that has been selected using the mouse.
This allows you to select a passage of text using your mouse, and have it read back to you automatically. To enable this feature, click on the tick box. When the box contains a tick, the feature is enabled.
The option to have text read back automatically when the mouse hovers over it is also available.
This option can be used in all occasions or only when using Internet Explorer or Firefox. To enable either of these features, click on the tick box. When the box contains a tick, the feature is enabled.
When typing in a text document, you may wish to have the text read back at different stages. To cater for this, there are four options available.
Text can be read back after each character is typed, after every complete word is typed, and after every complete sentence. Selecting the Cursor moves option would enable the computer to read out text in Microsoft Word as you move around the document using the arrow keys. The Left and Right keys will read the characters you have moved over. The Up and Down keys will read the line of text.
To enable any of these features, click on the relative tick box. When the box contains a tick, the feature is enabled.

Speech settings
To change the voice, or the speed that the text is being read aloud at, click on the Settings button.
You will then be presented with the settings window, which contains the option to change the voice, the speed the text is being read aloud at, as well as the volume of the voice.
The video below explains how to download more voices in your language.
